All about Owen

Owen turned "2" on October 25th!  Where has time gone?  He brought cupcakes to school to share with his friends, we ate dinner out as a family, and we will be celebrating his birthday with our family and friends on Saturday, October 27th at our house.  Owen is having a Sesame Street party, and he especially loves Elmo!

Fun and Random Stuff about Owen
  • He wants to be super independent and wants to do everything "myself."
  • He loves to give hugs and kisses.  He calls it a "kass."
  • He's learning more and more words everyday and loves to try to have a conversation with us.
  • He loves going to Parent's Day Out and enjoys playing outside, painting, and playing with friends.  Whenever I pull into the parking lot at Englewood, he'll yell "friends" from the backseat.
  • He is learning to count and will count with us up to 20.  On his own, he usually says, "one, two, fourteen, seventeen." It it gets progressively louder with each number.
  • He wants to be just like his big brother, Andrew.  He calls him "Jandrew."
  • He loves watching the cartoon called Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Charlie Brown.  Owen calls him "Chawley" or just "Brown."  He'll say over and over again...."watch Brown, watch Brown."
  • He's learning to pray and will try to repeat what we are saying.  We usually hear Amen at least 5 times near the end of the prayer.
  • We are so blessed to live near our family now, and he will try to name everyone.  When he names most of the men, he'll say they are at work.  "Pop at work, Papaw at work....."
  • He's showing some interest in the potty, but we haven't pushed too much yet.  He'll just sit at this point and try for about a minute or 2, so we are praising him for that.
  • Owen officially changed from a crib to a toddler/daybed a few days before his birthday.  He made that choice for himself after he crawled out of his crib twice and bumped his head.  He's done very well with the transition.
  • He sleeps with his blankie and puppies every night.
  • He will climb on anything and is almost always running and jumping everywhere.
  • He wears size 3T and 4T clothes, size 8 shoes, size 5 diapers, and is about 36lbs!  He and Andrew share most of their clothes because there's only about a pound difference between them.

We are incredibly blessed to be Owen's parents!  He is the sweetest and cutest little booger that keeps things crazy around our house.
