Crawling, Pulling Up, and Cruisin'

Andrew has finally decided that he is ready to move. He's been scooting around and crawling backwards for a little while, but on February 10th, he started crawling for his toys and socks (for some reason he loves his socks :) Less than a week later, we found him standing up in his bed, and the next week, he was cruisin' on the furniture and on his activity table. Everyone kept telling me how fortunate that I was that Andrew took his time with crawling, and I can somewhat understand because he's already all over the place. We officially have to baby proof our home now :)

Crawling for a sock....

I love to watch him crawl because he'll usually put his left leg is out and his right leg is under him. Sometimes he'll move on his hands and feet with his booty in the air. It's pretty funny!

More pics of our home

Gary and I are so excited to be in Auburn. We love our new house and are starting to get settled. We still have a few random boxes left, but for the most part, it's starting to feel like home. Our first Sunday at the church will be tomorrow, and on Monday, both me and Gary will start working. I will be working at the preschool at the church M-TH in the 3 year old class. It's so amazing and overwhelming to see how the Lord has blessed us through the whole process of moving here. Please pray for us as Gary begins serving as the Pastor of Families and Children.

Our New House!

We have been busy packing things up and getting ready for our move to Alabama. We have a contract on a house and are planning to close on Tuesday, February 17th. We are so excited and ready to get settled in Auburn.

For all of our friends in NC, we love you, and we are going to miss you SO much! Our home will always be open for visitors.

Here's a pic of our house. I will post more pictures when we get moved in.

10 months old!

Here are a few new pictures of Andrew. It's hard to believe he's 10 months old today!

Over the past month, Andrew has 2 new teeth on the top (total of 4), he's starting to drink some whole milk from a sippy cup, he loves to stand and play, starting to pull up, and he's trying to walk with our help.

He enjoys eating finger foods. This meal was turkey and green beans.

Andrew loves eating a grilled cheese or cheese quesadilla, and he will smack as he eats it. He definitely takes after me because I love anything with cheese :)

Playing on his train that he got from Mamaw and Papaw.

Andrew was playing in our room as I was packing. He wants me to give him the camera.

I love to watch him stare at his hands. They are always fascinating to him.

Andrew has a big boy car seat now because he has outgrown his infant carrier.

Just a few pictures of playtime.

We're Moving to ALABAMA!

After a year long process of searching and praying for the place we will serve in ministry, the Lord has lead us Parkway Baptist Church in Auburn, Alabama. Gary will be serving as the Pastor of Families and Children. We are SO excited about this opportunity! The Lord definitely has perfect timing, and we have seen this first hand with the job search process. We visited many churches in 2008 but never felt as if the Lord was leading us there. It was definitely a challenging time for our family, but God has been with us every step of the way. He continually provided all of our needs and challenged us to trust Him with this process. What a blessing it will be to move to Alabama and begin serving the people at Parkway Baptist Church!

We are in the process of searching for our 1st home, and we will be leaving Wake Forest, NC sometime in the middle of February. We are eager to see what the Lord has in store for our family as we begin serving Him through this ministry.

Snow Day

We woke up this morning, and it was SNOWING! After Gary worked a 1/2 day, we bundled up Andrew to go outside, and Gary thought it would be awesome to build a gigantic snowman. Little did we know, that it is impossible to do that with a restless 9 month old, so Gary decided to make one that was about 9 inches tall. After some pictures and some "off road stroller action" (Gary's comment), it turned out to be a great day!

Dressed in Camo

My dad, brother, and grandfather are duck hunters, so Grandpa (Nat's dad) made sure Andrew had his own camo outfit. I was able to get quite a few of Andrew's facial expressions today, so I thought everyone would enjoy these.....

9 months old

Andrew is keeping us busy these days, but he's so fun! He's such a happy boy, and he loves to be around other people, especially other kids. The other day, his preschool teacher (Ms. Karla) told me that Andrew was her "star student" in the baby class, and it just made me laugh :) She said he's content and happy at preschool, and I am so blessed to be working there and that Andrew is enjoying it too.

Here are a few updates over the last month or so.......

  • Waving all the time at everyone and everything including his toys :)
  • He's very verbal and he's saying....Da Da, Ma Ma, Boom Boom, Ta Ta, Ba Ba, Bye Bye along with other sounds
  • Scooting in circles and backwards but not quite crawling
  • Sat up by himself in his bed (only twice so far)
  • Standing while holding onto furniture or his activity table
  • Shaking his head "no" although he doesn't know what that means :)
  • Dancing
  • 2nd Tooth came in the day before Christmas Eve
  • Eating more big boy food (bread, cheese, veggies, fruit, etc)
  • Wearing 12 month clothes and size 4 diapers
I took Andrew to the doctor today for his 9 month check-up, and he's 22 pounds, 14 ounces (70% percentile) and 28 1/4 inches long (50% percentile). He's grown 2 1/2 inches in the last 3 months. We will be car seat shopping soon because Andrew is now almost over the limit on his infant carrier :) Dr. Hamp said he's doing great. We just love our little man!

Eating Big Boy Food....

This is the open mouth smile that we see all day :)

Play time....

Trying to help daddy with reading.....

Poor little guy was almost begging for a nap because he was so tired from playing with all of his new toys, but this is the only picture that I have been able to get of his 2 little teeth.
