Reunion in South Carolina

We went to South Carolina this past weekend to meet up with 3 other couples that were in our small group in North Carolina. We had 8 adults and 9 children in the house, and we had a blast!

Story time with Gary, Graham, Kate, and Andrew...

Jenn was so sweet to make the older kids a birthday cake, so they could all celebrate their 3rd birthday together.

Trip to Memphis

We took a trip to Memphis to see our family during spring break and had a wonderful time visiting with everyone!

It was a beautiful day to play outside!

We celebrated Andrew's 3rd birthday a little early with the family.

While we were in town, our nephew, Blake was baptized. We were so glad to be there for his special day, and we are so proud of him! Blake wanted to go to Joe's Crabshack for lunch, so we all went and celebrated together.

This is Blake and his dad, Chris.

Brothers

Andrew has been an awesome big brother, and Owen just loves watching his brother play. Now that Owen can hold and grab toys, Andrew will try to share with him and play with him. It's precious!

Owen-4 months

I took Owen to his 4 month check-up with Dr. Greer, and he's 19lbs and 27 inches long. What a big boy! Andrew was only 24 inches long at 4 months. I think Owen may be tall like his daddy. He's now wearing 9 month clothes.

Playing Basketball

Andrew loves playing basketball! Since it's been so cold outside, he likes dribbling the ball in our kitchen and has a lot of fun throwing balls into our laundry baskets.

Owen-3 months

Here's Andrew showing me his dinosaur.

Owen coos, laughs, and squeals all the time.

We gave Owen rice cereal for the 1st time at 3.5 months. He wasn't so sure about it at first. Now, he loves it.

He's always playing with his hands or sucking on them.

Such a happy boy!

He's not really sure about his exersaucer yet.

Owen is now sleeping in his own room and started sleeping through the night at around 3.5 months old. It still isn't consistent every night, but it's great to get a full night of sleep :) Owen is now wearing 6-9 month clothes and is wearing size 3 diapers. He is such an easy going baby and is happy all the time!

January Pictures (10-11 Weeks Old)

10 Weeks Old

These are a few pictures of Andrew and his best buddy, Aubrey. They are in the same preschool class and Sunday school class at church. They have so much fun together, and he's always talking about her.

Look at that double chin :)

This shirt was made by my sweet friend, Melissa. She and her husband are missionaries overseas, and we miss them so much!

Owen's laughing and talking to his hats that are on his wall.

Sleeping after his 1st day at preschool. He had a great day!

All About Andrew

Here's an update on Andrew, mainly for my records.

Andrew officially started potty training last week and has done really well so far. We have spent a lot of time at home, so he's gotten comfortable going on his own little potty. The accidents have gotten fewer and fewer, but we still have a little ways to go until he's officially potty trained. So far, he's so proud of himself, and we are too!

We love all the conversations that we have with Andrew throughout the day. He's very observant and doesn't let much passed us. He will also repeat anything he hears or at least ask us about it. Last night when we were praying before bed, I asked him if he wanted to pray all by himself, and he said, "Dear Jesus, thank you for Daddy, Mommy, Owen, and Andrew, In Jesus Name, Amen." Melted my heart. He's been saying the blessing at the table and will help with bedtime prayers, but last night, he didn't want mommy's help because he wanted to do it "myself."

Andrew loves everything about music! He loves to sing, dance, and play instruments (usually the drums). Anytime there's music on the radio in the car or on the tv, he wants to listen to it. He usually tells us to turn it up loud.

Andrew really enjoys going to preschool, and Gary and I have so much fun asking him about his friends and what he did at school. He tells us about playing with trucks, puzzles, painting, going to the playground, etc. He also repeats a lot of the things his teacher says to the class, and we are usually cracking up laughing. For example, if we are being loud at home, he'll say, "Quiet in the classroom," or sometimes he'll tell us to, "Have a seat." We just love his teachers, Mrs. Dannell and Mrs. Christy.

Andrew also likes to paint and color. He brings home the cutest crafts from preschool, and when he's here with us, he's always asking to color in a coloring book.

Andrew's known all of his letters, numbers through 10, basic colors, and shapes for a little while now, but recently, he can recognize his name on things, he's started trying to write letters, he can count to 30, and he'll count to 8 in Spanish (we think he learned this from Dora). The funny part about him counting in Spanish is that he says cuatro is "waffle" for some reason.

We love to ask Andrew all about his favorite things, and this is what he's saying right now....
Food: Sandwich (although most of the time it would be french fries)
Animal: Giraffe
Color: Blue
Toy: Trains
Song: Hark the Hearld Angels Sing (learned this from Charlie Brown)

Andrew is a wonderful big brother, and he kisses and hugs Owen all the time. He'll put his paci in his mouth when he's upset, and he holds the diaper for me during diaper changes. He likes to get on the floor with Owen on his activity mat, and he tells Owen all about his toys. It's precious.

I say this a lot, but I really can't believe how fast Andrew has grown. Time has certainly flown by. He'll be 3 in 3 months, and I feel like he's learning new things and changing all the time. He is the most precious blessing from the Lord.
