Trip to Memphis

Gary's parents came to visit last week, and when they left, they took Andrew with them to Memphis. Gary and I had 3 days to go on dates and to enjoy some time together while Andrew played with his grandparents, aunt and uncle, and cousins. We haven't really been on an official date with just the 2 of us since Andrew was born, so it was a lot of fun and well overdue. Wednesday, I headed to Memphis to pick up Andrew and to spend some time with my family.

On Friday, my parents wanted to take Andrew to the Memphis Zoo, so I have more zoo pictures. We all had a lot of fun!

Chewacla State Park

Yesterday, we went to Chewacla State Park in Auburn for a picnic, and we hiked down a small trail to see the waterfall.

Montgomery Zoo

We had a great day with Gary's parents at the Montgomery Zoo. We weren't sure if Andrew would notice the animals, but he got the biggest grin when the monkey came to show off at the front of his cage. He also enjoyed the reptiles and the birds that were close by.

Auburn Baseball Game

The 3 of us went to the Auburn vs. Ole Miss baseball game last weekend, and it was a lot of fun! Andrew loves to be outside, so he was entertained by all the noises and lights around him.

Our little sportster!

Gary has been putting Andrew through some intense off-season workouts. This includes pushing trains and shooting hoops. We've gotta a little work to do, but we are making progress :)

He is Risen!

What a wonderful day to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of His sacrifice on the cross, we as believers have the wonderful hope of eternal life with Him. Praise God!

Gary, Andrew, and I have had a very eventful Easter weekend! Friday night, we had a Flashlight Hunt for the 4th-6th graders at our church, and we ended up spending most of the night in a closet playing games during a tornado warning. Gary can always find a way to make things fun, so we ate pizza and played games with the kids until the storm passed through. Saturday, we had a Big Easter Egg Hunt at the church for babies through 3rd grade and their families. We had a great turnout, and it was a great time of fellowship. Andrew also participated in the hunt for a few minutes. On Sunday morning, the 3 of us went to worship, and that afternoon, Cary and Amy Odom invited us over to their home for lunch. They have been great friends since we first visited Parkway in January.

Andrew is 1 today!

I really can't believe that my baby boy is 1 year old today. This past year has flown by for us. We are completely blown away by the way the Lord has blessed our family!

We thought it would be fun to list some of our recent favorites about Andrew. It's amazing to see how much he's growing, changing, and becoming more and more active.

We love......
Seeing him smile in the morning when he first wakes up.
Watching him chase balls around the house (he is ALL boy).
Having him pull up and crawl into our laps.
Listening to him laugh (or fake laugh) when he thinks he is funny.
Reading books together.
Going on walks outside.
Watching him try to clap his hands together.
Rocking him and cuddling with him when he's tired (if he'll let us).
Hearing him say "uh oh" when he drops something.
Having him crawl to chase me all over the house.
Spending time on Saturday morning with all 3 of us in the bed.
Tickling him and making him crack up laughing.
Getting open mouth kisses from him.
Watching him as we try to sing songs to him.

Here's a video of Andrew with his new golf club. He loves to hit balls all over the house and chase them. He gets a little distracted in the middle of the video while he is watching the tv :)
